Justin D. Schlegel (Technical Director) was born and raised in Oregon and recently moved to San Francisco.
He has been a free-lance Technical Director and Lighting Designer since 1990, pairing with his best friend,
a Scenic Designer, to build over forty productions and design more than thirty. Some of his favorites
include Little Shop of Horrors, The Diary of Anne Frank and The Tavern. Recently, Justin has been a
Technical Director for NIKE Corporation at their world headquarters, Tiger Woods Conference Center,
directing events and meetings. Justin graduated from Southern Oregon University (B.F.A. Theatre) and
California Institute of the Arts (M.F.A.). Justin enjoys building custom furniture by hand from the
vintage tools he inherited from his grandfather, a Master Carpenter. An avid mountain biker, he is
slowly turning his wife into a bicycling fan.
